Inner Peace: How to Achieve Bliss at Home.

Home is where anyone wants to de-stress, but what if  ‘Home Sweet Home’ doesn’t really apply to your personal sanctuary?  If at the end of the day your home does not provide you with the much needed physical and psychological comfort, then you have a dilemma!

So how do you enhance your home environment to reduce your stress? As certain issues pose a threat to our wellness, there are actually 3 efficient ways to create a wonderful but practical environment at home.

1.Declutter and let go

So how do you boost your degree of comfort if your home – rooms, floors, furniture and everything else are a total mess? How about trying to check on the physical comfort of your home? Is your bed still cozy and comfy? Can you still find your nice outfit in your closet? Are your chairs still comfortable to sit on while watching your favorite series?

If the answer is a big NO then it’s probably high time that you initiate simple changes like de-cluttering and organizing your stuff. Your things may be scattered all over the place. Decide on what to keep and what to let go. Remember, there are some people out there in dire need. Remember the old adage, ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’. A nice and clean surrounding can surely do the trick of reducing stress.

2.Allow Nature in

Researches have revealed how nature can significantly improve pleasant feelings. Aside from painting your walls green, it is also a good idea to set-up an aquarium in the living room so you’ll have a view of fishes swimming to and fro while you are relaxing on your couch. I bet you will be lulled to sleep in just a few minutes with dreams of the calmness and serenity of the ocean. Bring in a plant, whether big or small, and place them beside your reading table. This is a perfect sight while reading a book and sipping your favorite coffee. Relaxing indeed!

3.Create a nice small garden

Studies have shown how gardens are so beneficial to one’s health whether physical or psychological. Creating a meaningful landscape contribute significantly to our quality of life. Greenery offers a way to reconnect and harmonize with nature through aesthetically great landscape that refreshes the mind and the body. Playing a recording of natural sounds like a chirping bird or a flowing water can add up to the great feeling!

Quality of life has been an advocacy of varied medical groups and organizations across every society. The improvement of human health became a goal to guarantee longer life span. The importance of mental health having a ‘sound mind, in a sound body, in a sound environment’ became a crucial move to achieve wellness.
