There is no question about parental duties. It is both an obligation and a responsibility to raise well-adjusted, functional and socially healthy children. And of course as parents we do everything in our powers to comply with the duties entailed in being a good parent.
It’s No Joke Being a Parent
In a study done by Nancy G. Guerra and Catherine P. Bradshaw they stated that there are “core competencies for positive youth development “which includes a positive sense of self, self-control, good decision-making skills, and pro-social connectedness. Family socialization is the initial stage of human interaction which molds the values embodied by our kids. The beginnings of influence are rooted in the individual’s exposure to the activities, expressions, practices, routines, thinking and way of life within the home.
Conclusion
Considering that the moment to which the child is exposed to the family is during the formative years of development, it only shows how crucial the role of the family is to the young mind. Even the concept of right and wrong, the existence of values and virtues or otherwise is a result of your influence to your children. Indeed having kids of our own is pure joy but never forget that it always entail sacrifices and wisdom to raise good kids!
Let these children be assets and not liabilities to our society 🙂
